About

A winding path. A straight method.

Automata starts with Julien Gaichet. This is where our way of working comes from, and what helps me stand by it.

My career has not followed a straight line, and that is precisely its strength. I have worked across several industries and seen very different ways of running a business. That variety now helps me understand a company’s work, constraints and habits quickly, before thinking about the tool.

The rule I kept from quality assurance

“It works” is not the same as “it is reliable”.

How we work

Five commitments that apply to every project, large or small.

  1. 01

    We start from your day-to-day

Before talking about solutions, we look at how the work actually gets done: who types what, where, and how many times.

  2. 02

    We keep your tools

We build around what you already use. We will not ask you to change software without a very good reason.

  3. 03

    We move in small steps

A first useful improvement, quickly, rather than a big project that delivers nothing for months.

  4. 04

    Your team stays in control

Important steps are still approved by a person, and you understand what has been built.

  5. 05

We tell it like it is

If a problem is not worth the effort, or if an existing tool is enough, we will say so.

Behind the scenes

My AI teammates

These AI agents help me plan, build and test with a broader perspective. I lead the work and remain responsible for every decision.

AAlex PlainPlanning1

He turns a problem that is still unclear into a practical plan and challenges the first obvious answer.

BBen GineerBuilding2

He explores the code, builds the solution and checks that it holds up when it meets the real world.

TTess PilotTesting3

She tests the user journeys, looks for blind spots and flags anything that deserves a second look.
